Privacy policy
What Emaan Track knows about you, why, and what never leaves your device. Last updated 10 October 2026.
In short
- Prayer times and the Qiblah are worked out on your device.
- Your exact location is used only on your device, only if you allow it, and is never stored or sent to us.
- There is no advertising network, no analytics and no tracking in the app or on this site.
- With an account, your settings and the prayers you confirm are kept on our servers so your devices stay in step.
- If the app crashes, a technical report is sent so we can fix it. It says nothing about your prayers or where you are.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time.
What stays on your device
- Exact location. On the Qiblah screen you can choose “Use my exact location”. The app then reads your position to work out the direction and distance to the Kaaba. It is used for that visit only: it is not saved, not synced and not sent anywhere.
- Compass. The Qiblah screen reads your phone’s compass. The readings are not stored.
- Device choices. Whether prayer sounds play on this device, and whether they play when it is silent.
What we keep when you have an account
- Your account. Your email address, your first and last name, and your password in a form we cannot read.
- Your settings. The city you chose (its name, the coordinates of the city and its time zone), your calculation method, and what you set for each prayer.
- Your prayers. Which prayers you confirmed and when, and when a prayer session began, so every device shows the same and gives its screen back together.
- Your devices. A name and type for each device you sign in on, a scrambled identifier that lets us recognise the same device after a reinstall, and the address notifications are sent to.
- Purchases. Which plan you have, the store’s reference for the purchase, and its amount and currency. We never see or keep your card details.
- Feedback. What you write to us, with your app version and device type if you choose to include them.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an error on Android, iPhone or Mac, it sends a report: what went wrong and where in the app, the app version, the device model and its system version, and a random identifier for that installation so repeated crashes can be told apart. It does not include your name, your email address, your location, your settings or your prayers. Reports are kept for 90 days.
Services that help us run Emaan Track
These receive only what they need for their part.
- Supabase stores accounts and synced data and signs you in.
- Google Play, the App Store, Paddle and Stripe take payments. Which one depends on where you buy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service deliver notifications to your devices.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives the crash reports described above.
- Resend sends our emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password.
- Open-Meteo answers city searches: the text you type is sent to it.
- ipwho.is and ipinfo.io suggest a city if you tap “Detect my approximate location”. They see your internet address, as any website you visit does, and return a city. This is approximate and is not your exact location.
- Cloudflare serves this website and tells it which country you are visiting from, so prices show in your currency.
Sponsors
The Free plan may show a card from a sponsor we work with directly. Sponsors receive nothing about you: there is no advertising network and no tracking behind these cards. If you tap one, the sponsor’s own site opens in your browser.
This website
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. If you start creating an account here, your browser remembers that until you finish, so the confirmation link can bring you back.
How long we keep things
For as long as you have an account. When an account is deleted it is closed at once, its data is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, and then it is erased. Payment records are kept without your account attached, as accounting rules require.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app under Settings › Account, or on the Delete account page.
- Turn off location for Emaan Track in your device settings at any time. The Qiblah is then measured from the centre of your city.
- Turn off notifications in your device settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it.
Children
Emaan Track is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
